## Frequently asked questions

### How do I get a company's logo from their website?

Enter the company's domain and click Fetch. The tool reads the page and returns every logo and icon it can find, ranked best first, with a download button for each. The top result is usually the highest-resolution logo the site publishes.

### Where does the tool look for logos?

In layers: the web app manifest (usually the largest, purpose-built assets), apple-touch-icons, declared favicons and mask icons, the OpenGraph and Twitter card images, and finally /favicon.ico. If a site declares nothing usable, it falls back to a public favicon proxy.

### Why is the biggest icon not always the one declared as biggest?

Because declared sizes are frequently wrong. A link tag claiming sizes="192x192" often points at a 32-pixel file. The tool downloads each candidate and measures its real dimensions, then ranks on the measurement rather than the declaration.

### Can I download the logos?

Yes. The top candidates are copied to our CDN and served from there, which means the download works even when the original site blocks hotlinking or omits CORS headers. Set rehost to false in the API if you only want the original URLs.

### What metadata does it return besides the logo?

Page title, description, site name, canonical URL, language, theme colour, generator, RSS/Atom feeds, and the full set of OpenGraph and Twitter card tags. It also reports the final URL after redirects, which is useful when a domain forwards elsewhere.

### Am I allowed to use a logo I download here?

The tool only retrieves what a website already publishes publicly; it grants no rights over it. Logos are usually trademarks, so check the owner's brand guidelines before using one, particularly for commercial or promotional purposes.
