# Troubleshooting

Fixes for common problems: an offline tool, rate limits, the human check, PeerDrop not connecting, large files, browser support and sign-in.

## A tool says it is temporarily offline

**What you see**

A notice at the top of the tool: "This tool is temporarily offline. Its media-processing server is being migrated, so conversions will fail right now. Please check back shortly — nothing you upload would be processed in the meantime."

A milder version says: "Running in reduced-quality mode. The high-performance processing server is being migrated, so this tool is using a slower fallback. Results are still usable."

These notices appear on tools that need the media server, such as the video compressor, video to MP3, video to GIF, vocal separator, image compressor, PDF compressor, image to text (OCR), sticker maker and YouTube Studio.

**What to do**

If the tool is offline, don't upload anything yet. Come back later. The site checks the server about once a minute, and the notice disappears by itself when the server is back.

If it says reduced-quality mode, carry on. The tool still works, just more slowly.

## You hit a rate limit

**What you see**

A message such as "Rate limit exceeded", "Too many requests", or "Free guest limit reached (3 per hour). Sign in with Google for higher limits!"

**What to do**

Wait, then try again. An hourly limit clears one hour after your first request, and a per-minute limit clears within a minute. Retrying straight away counts against you too.

For the email drafter and the SQL builder, signing in raises the limit. The full list is in [Limits and fair use](https://www.razi.pro/help/limits-and-fair-use).

## The human check fails or will not load

**What you see**

On the sign-in page, the check shows "Verification could not load. Please refresh and try again." The sign-in button stays greyed out.

Or an upload fails with "A quick human check is required before uploading. Please complete the verification and retry."

**What to do**

- Refresh the page.
- The check is loaded from Cloudflare, at challenges.cloudflare.com. If an ad blocker, privacy extension or network filter blocks that address, the check cannot load. Allow it for razi.pro, or try a private window without extensions.
- A solved check lasts 30 minutes. If you left the page open longer, solve it again.
- If an upload asks for the check, sign in. Signed-in uploads do not need it.

## PeerDrop will not connect

**What you see**

One of these messages:

- "That code has expired or was mistyped."
- "Someone else already joined with that code."
- "Could not reach the other device. One of you may be on a network that blocks direct connections."
- "A direct connection could not be established on this network. This usually means one side is behind a restrictive firewall."
- "Could not reach the pairing service. It may be temporarily down."

**What to do**

- A code works for 10 minutes and can only be used once. If it has expired or someone else used it, start again for a new code.
- Keep both devices on the PeerDrop page until the transfer finishes. If one side leaves, the transfer stops.
- PeerDrop connects the two devices directly and does not relay files through a server. Strict office networks, some public Wi-Fi and some VPNs block that. Try turning off the VPN, or put both devices on the same network.
- If it still fails, press "Switch to upload mode". This shares the file as a link instead. It is limited to 50MB and the link lasts 7 days.

## A large file fails

**What you see**

A message such as "File too large (max 50MB)", "File size must be under 4MB. Compress the video first, then try again." or "Image size must be less than 10MB".

In PeerDrop: "This browser has to hold the whole transfer in memory, and this one is too large. Chrome or Edge can stream it straight to disk."

**What to do**

Check the limit for that tool in [Limits and fair use](https://www.razi.pro/help/limits-and-fair-use). Video to MP3 and video to GIF take videos up to 4MB, so compress a larger video first.

For big files, use PeerDrop direct mode. It has no size limit in Chrome or Edge. Other browsers hold the whole transfer in memory, which caps it at about 1.5GB.

## Your browser is missing a feature

**What you see**

PeerDrop shows "Direct transfer is not available here" with one of these reasons:

- "Direct transfer needs a secure (https) connection."
- "This browser does not support direct peer-to-peer transfers."
- "This browser or network is blocking the connection needed to pair devices."

In Draw, sharing may show "Native share is not supported. Please download instead."

**What to do**

- Make sure the address starts with https.
- Update your browser, or try Chrome or Edge. PeerDrop recommends them because they can save large transfers straight to disk.
- In PeerDrop, press "Use upload mode instead" to share the file as a link.
- The "Send a folder" button only appears in browsers that can pick folders. In other browsers, send the files one by one or zip them first.
- In Draw, download the file and share it yourself.

## You cannot sign in

**What you see**

You choose your Google account, then land back on the sign-in page instead of being signed in.

**What to do**

- The site only accepts Google accounts whose email address Google has verified. If yours isn't verified, verify it with Google, or use another account.
- Complete the human check before you press the sign-in button. The button stays greyed out until the check passes.
- If the check will not load, see the human check section above.

Once you are signed in, you stay signed in for up to 30 days.

## Frequently asked questions

### A tool says it is temporarily offline. Is my file lost?

Nothing is processed while the tool is offline, so don't upload anything yet. The notice clears on its own once the media server is back.

### Why does the human check not appear?

It loads from Cloudflare at challenges.cloudflare.com. Ad blockers, privacy extensions and some network filters block it. Allow that address or try a private window without extensions, then refresh.

### Why does PeerDrop fail on my office network or VPN?

PeerDrop connects the two devices directly and does not relay files through a server. Some networks and VPNs block direct connections. Try another network, or switch to upload mode to share a link up to 50MB.

### My PeerDrop code does not work. Why?

A code works for 10 minutes and only once. If it has expired, was mistyped, or someone else already joined with it, start again to get a new code.

### Why was my Google sign-in rejected?

The site only accepts Google accounts with a verified email address, and the human check must pass first. Verify your email with Google or use another account.
